Kozhakattei / Modhak: These sweet dumplings are a traditional favorite during Indian festivals, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi. They are usually filled with a sweet coconut and jaggery mixture, making them a delightful treat for the palate. Link to Method.

Butter Murukku: Butter Murukku is a crispy and savory South Indian snack. Made with rice flour and a generous amount of butter, these spiral-shaped snacks are irresistible. They are often enjoyed with a hot cup of tea or coffee.

Besan Laddu: Besan Laddu is a classic Indian sweet made from roasted gram flour, ghee, and sugar. Shaped into small, round balls, these laddus are a symbol of celebration and are commonly prepared during festivals like Diwali.

VazhaiPoo Vadai: VazhaiPoo Vadai, also known as banana flower fritters, is a unique and regional delicacy from South India. The banana flowers are finely chopped, mixed with spices and lentils, and then deep-fried to create these crunchy and flavorful vadai.

Adirasam / Kajjaya: Adirasam, known as Kajjaya in some regions, is a sweet delicacy prepared during festivals like Deepavali. These discs are made from a mixture of rice flour, jaggery, and flavored with cardamom. They have a lovely crispy texture with a hint of sweetness.

Omapodi, also known as Karasev, is a delicious and crispy South Indian snack made from a mixture seasoned with the aromatic and flavorful ajwain or omum seeds.

The name “Then Kuzhal” likely comes from the snack’s hollow shape. When you bite into it, you’ll notice it has a gentle hollow inside, and since it’s sweet, it’s like a “Sweet Flute.”

Because it’s so addictive, it’s hard to stop once you start munching on Coconut Milk Murukku, also known as Thengai Paal Murukku. This Diwali favorite is incredibly tasty due to the rich flavor of coconut milk.
