This classic Maharashtrian dish called Thalipeeta is made with multigrain flour, chilli peppers, and fresh veggies. This dish is filling and simple to prepare. This is more than just healthy, this is full of flavours. Especially when made hand tossed. The most difficult part is the making the perfect proportions and roasting it. We have taken care of that. Its just simple dough and hand tossing for you to savour the hot hot bread.

Marati Thalipeeta / Multigrain Roti

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Knife & cutting board
  • Shredder
  • Muslin Cloth

Materials

  • 1 Pack Thalipeeta Atta
  • 1 TBSP Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh Coriander leaves Chopped
  • Onions Chopped
  • Green Chillies Chopped
  • Shredded Vegetables optional

Instructions

Making Dough

  • Mix the required amount of atta with other ingredients mentioned above.
  • Add a teaspoon cooking oil
  • Add water and make dough to roti consistency

Making Thalipeeth

  • Take moist muslin cloth
  • Take large lemon sized dough ball
  • Flatten the dough on the muslin cloth to a thick (about quarter inch thick) flat bread.
  • Make 3-4 holes around it
  • Lift it with the cloth and lay it on hot tawa
  • Carefully peel the cloth off it.
  • Add few drops of cooking oil and cover the roti with a lid and cook untill it turns golden & crisp.
  • Cook both sides.
  • It tastes best when served hot.
  • Enjoy the Marata Thalipeeta with your favourite accompaniment.

Notes

Serve hot – It tastes amazing when hot.
