Sambar in 5 mins
Make simple Sambar in 5 mins
Yield: 1 Person
Equipment
- 1 cooking bowl
- 1 Ladle
- 1 Knife for chopping veggies
- 1 Tadka Kadai
Materials
For Sambar
- 2 Table Spoon Instant Sambar powder
- 2 cup water
- ½ cup cup veggies
For Tadka
- 1 Table spoon cooking oil
- ½ Tea Spoon Mustard seeds
- 2 leafs Curry leaf
Garnish (optional)
- 2 Table Spoon Fresh Coriander Leaves Chopped Fine
Instructions
Sambar
- Add them all together in the Bowl
- boil it in medium flame until veggies are cooked (soft when poked)
- keep it aside
Tadka
- Heath the oil in Kadai
- When hot add Mustard seeds
- Add Curry leaves
- wait till splutter stops
- Add to the Sambar you made
Garnish (Will add that zing to sambar)
- Garnish with the cut Coriander leaves
- Serve Hot.
- Enjoy the Sambar with Rice or Idli or so.
Notes
- If you like spicy Sambar
- Add little more Instant Sambar powder powder and adjust as per your taste.
- or Add little Guntur Chilli Powder
- If you like it sour
- Add some Tamarind water to it
- For Malabar Style sambar:
- Make a paste (in mixie) with Coconut + Jeera
- Add it to sambar once the veggies are cooked
- For Udupi Style sambar
- Make a paste (in mixie) with Coconut + Teaspoon of Sugar
- Add it to sambar once the veggies are cooked
